Pellet system

With a pellet system you can burn wood and pellets

Ingenious hybrid fireplace for burning wood and pellets

In a Tulikivi hybrid fireplace you can use both firewood and pellets as you choose. Tulikivi’s whirlbox mixes the combustion gases and combustion air efficiently in the combustion chamber, as most of the combustion air flows to exactly where it is needed, above the firewood and pellets, via the air gaps between the firebox plates. Thanks to the efficient mixing, combustion is clean and pellets can now be burned in the same firebox.

Sufficient pellets for one firing will fit in the whirlbox in one go, and the fire will burn nicely in the entire volume of the firebox. You can enjoy the beneficial radiant heat in peace.

A separate pellet system is available for the Classic collection of fireplaces if you want to burn both wood and pellets. You can also purchase a pellet system later if you already have a Tulikivi fireplace with a whirlbox. The Tulikivi Green P10 pellet system is suitable for several Tulikivi fireplaces If you are not sure whether the system is suitable for your Tulikivi fireplace, please contact the nearest Tulikivi dealer for more information.

Pellets are pure wood

High-quality pellets are made from pure sawdust (no bark or husk) without any additives. The lignin released from the wood in the manufacturing process binds the pellet tightly without the need for a separate adhesive. The moisture content of the pellet is less than 10 per cent. A good-quality pellet burns cleanly and with a high calorific value. Combustion produces pure wood ash – but this is only about 0.5 per cent of the fuel mass. Purchase your pellets in batches according to your needs. Pellets are easy to store without mess. A dry, ventilated storeroom is sufficient. The energy produced by 15 litres of pellets is equivalent to that produced by about 13kg of dry birch logs.

Which Tulikivi fireplaces are hybrid fireplaces?

The Green label and the P-symbol on the product card indicate that the fireplace in question is either a hybrid fireplace or compatible with a pellet system. All fireplaces in the Karelia collection are hybrid fireplaces, which means you can burn both wood and pellets in the same grate. No additional equipment is required.

The product card also has the order code for the pellet system that can be ordered separately and the amount of pellets you can burn in your fireplace per firing.
